How to Root and Flash
the ClockworkMod Recovery on the Galaxy Tab P1000 (running Gingerbread)
I. Before You Begin
1.
Back up your data.
2.
Make sure that you have all the proper drivers installed on your PC. If you
have not installed it, download and install it.

This method is only for the GSM version of the Galaxy Tab P1000 running
Gingerbread 2.3.3.
II. Necessary Downloads
1.
Odin3 version 1.8.5.

III. Rooting
the Galaxy Tab and Flashing ClockworkMod Recovery
1.
Double-click on Odin3 v1.8.5.exe.

Click on PDA. Navigate to the location where you have downloaded CF-Root-TAB7_XX_OXA_JQ1-v3.3-CWM3RFS.tar
to from above and select it.
4.
Make sure that the Re-Partition tickbox is unchecked!!
5.
Power down your P1000.
6.
With the device powered down, press and hold the Volume Down + Power buttons
until the device boots into Download Mode.
7.
Connect the device to your PC. Odin should now recognize your device and
the ID: COM should light up yellow.
8.
Make sure that your Odin screen looks like this.
9.
Click on Start. Again, make sure that Re-Partition is unchecked!!
You
have now rooted and installed ClockworkMod Recovery on your Galaxy Tab P1000!!
IV. How to upgrade the Galaxy Tab P1000 to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean via CyanogenMod 10
1. Download ROM from
and
google applications
2.
Copy the downloaded ZIP files to SD card.
3.
Switch off your phone.
4.
Boot into Recovery Mode. You can do this
by pressing and holding down the Volume Up and Power buttons until Recovery
boots.

NOTE: Use the Volume buttons to scroll up
and down and Power button to select an option in recovery.
5.
Select Wipe data/factory reset and
on the screen that follows, select Yes to confirm data wipe.
6.
Select Wipe cache partition and
confirm the action on the next screen.
7.
Select Mounts and Storage and
select Format /system
8.
Go back to the main menu and select Advanced.
From there, select Wipe Dalvik cache and confirm the action on the next
screen.
9.
Select Install ZIP from SD card.
Select Choose ZIP from SD card, then browse for the downloaded Jelly
Bean ROM and select it. Confirm the installation by selecting Yes on the
screen that follows. It may take 5-10 minutes for the ROM to finish installing.
10.
After the ROM has finished installing,
repeat step 9 but this time around select the GApps package. This will install
the important Google applications such as Gmail and GTalk.
11.
After the installation process is
finished, head back to the main menu by selecting Go back.
12.
Reboot your phone by selecting Reboot
system now.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed
Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean-based CyanogenMod 10 ROM on your Samsung Galaxy Tab
GT-P1000.
